Fulfilling God’s Mission at the Itasca Food Pantry

Stocked Shelves at the Itasca Food Pantry

There are over 100 families that avail themselves of the Itasca Food Pantry, 336 Center St., Itasca, IL 60143, many with school-age children. New families needing assistance will need to register at the pantry on Saturday mornings.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church continues to assist the Itasca Food Pantry as this is an invaluable ministry to the Itasca community. St. Matthew dedicates the first Sunday of every month to this local ministry. On these Sundays, we ask that members, visitors, and guests to please bring to the church non-perishable food items and paper products listed below to be delivered to the pantry. Items may be brought in at any time but will be taken to the food pantry the first week of each month. We also welcome monetary donations which are provided to the Food Pantry so that goods may be ordered for local residents.

The Itasca Food Pantry is in always need of the following items:

  • Dish Soap
  • Paper Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Tooth Paste
  • Soups
  • Coffee
  • Pasta
  • Pork and Beans
  • Canned Fruit
  • Tuna
  • Pet food and supplies – dry dog food, cat food, cat litter, etc.
  • Clothing – warm jackets, mittens, gloves, hats, scarves, etc.

Members of the congregation of St. Matthew are responsible for supplying hands-on service at the Itasca Food Pantry. Engaging as disciples in God’s mission, the people at St. Matthew help distribute food and serve as agents of Christ’s love in our local community. Please let us know if you would like to be part of this vital ministry.
